Against the Storm was a highbrow drama series broadcast in the years between 1939 and 1942, then 1949, and finally from 1951 to 1952 Over a 13-year run, it was heard on NBC and ABC. Roger DeKoven starred the lead role Professor Jason Mckinley Allen. Professor Allen, who lived in Hawthorne, Connecticut at Deep Pool Farm, taught classes at the fictional Harper University. Sanders Michael, born in Denmark, created the show and wrote the scripts. Critically acclaimed for its originality and script writing, Against the Storm was the only daytime radio serial to win a Peabody Award in 1942.
